Anna Soltys was born in Poland to an artist couple. Their guidance along with the influence of a saxophone-playing uncle taught Anna at a young age that art is a way of life. She spent the first part of her childhood in Poland followed by 6 years in Paris before she moved to her self-proclaimed home Chicago. “My goal as an artist is not only to explore my ride on the roller coaster we call life," says Anna, "but also to explore and unveil the strands that make all of us so much the same.”

Anna believes that the unrealistic expectations of our generation have many people believing that life is supposed to be easy. Her music explores and documents these elements through lyrically driven and simple melodies and leaves you with a sense of honest sorrow. Also an acclaimed painter, her paintings are based off the same exploration through vivid colors, fleshy tones, and timeless presence. “Painting is different than music to me." says Anna, "I’ve painted for years now, and have struggled with getting my objectives across with aesthetic clarity. People enjoy the work and I love painting, but it is more personal, tangible, and ultimately can only belong to one person. I wanted to reach more people and communicate more clearly with my audience. Once I write a song it is no longer mine, it is for the world, and language has less room for misinterpretation.”

Producer Chris Steinmetz sums it up simply, "When you hear Anna's voice, you get a sense of the timeless and the original . . . a gentle whisper in your ear that speaks of darkness and of beauty."
